The challenge
A medical touchscreen concept had to become a responsive embedded application on a Toradex Verdin i.MX8M Plus platform. The solution needed to fit a containerised Linux environment, support controlled product evolution and provide a realistic route from design assets to a validated device.

Engineering approach
Crossware defined the LVGL application architecture, reusable screen components and platform responsibilities together. Figma-based interaction designs were translated into a maintainable model-view-controller structure, while touch input, animation, display bring-up and GPU acceleration were considered as one system.
Platform and productisation
The initial baseline used Torizon and container deployment to keep application development repeatable. In parallel, the architecture preserved a path to a product-specific Yocto image. Configuration, update handling, software composition, validation and handover were treated as product requirements rather than late deployment tasks.
Delivered capabilities
- LVGL application architecture and reusable screen implementation
- Touch, animation and responsive layout behaviour
- Weston integration and GPU-acceleration validation
- Container deployment on the Toradex development baseline
- Defined route toward Yocto-based productisation
- Test, release, configuration and maintenance planning
Outcome
The project established a credible route from medical product requirements and interface design to a maintainable embedded implementation. It gives the product team a reusable application structure and a platform strategy that can mature with certification, manufacturing and long-term support needs.
