The challenge
An energy-management product needed a clear local interface for everyday users and service technicians. Dashboards, connected-device discovery, settings and protected maintenance functions had to share one touchscreen without exposing technical complexity during normal operation.
Engineering approach
Crossware translated the interaction concept into a structured Qt application with reusable screens, explicit navigation state and a consistent component language. Live device information and embedded portal content were integrated alongside native controls, while service functions were deliberately separated from the normal user journey.
Two audiences, one product
Operational screens focus on status, energy data and connected equipment. Service access uses protected interactions so maintenance functions stay available without cluttering the main interface or being triggered accidentally. Device tables and settings were designed to remain usable as installations grow.
Delivered capabilities
- Operational energy dashboards and portal integration
- Dynamic connected-device discovery and status information
- Touch-optimised navigation, settings and login workflows
- Protected service and maintenance functions
- Reusable Qt screens and shared visual components
- Clear handling of loading, empty and error states
Outcome
The resulting HMI turns a technically complex energy system into a manageable local product experience. Its component structure supports continued development while keeping user and service workflows clearly separated.
