Automotive car-information widget

A compact Qt interface presenting vehicle data through responsive, animated and localisation-ready views.

AutomotiveEmbedded multimedia systemQt 5 · C++ · Touch UI

The challenge

A multimedia system needed a self-contained vehicle-information widget that could present several categories of live data in a fixed display area. The component had to feel native inside the wider product, remain readable at a glance and accept changing signals without coupling the UI to one data source.

Engineering approach

Crossware translated detailed layouts and interaction rules into a configurable Qt component with animated page transitions and a clean signal-and-slot interface. Typography, alignment, value ranges, icons and state behaviour were kept consistent across the different views while visual assets and translations remained replaceable.

Information designed for the driving context

The screen set covers vehicle status, tyre pressure, temperature, trip information, driving dynamics and performance data. Each page balances static orientation cues with values that can update quickly, and swipe navigation lets users move between information groups without introducing deep menus.

Delivered capabilities

  • Configurable pages for vehicle, tyre and trip information
  • Animated swipe navigation and predictable page state
  • Low-delay updates for dynamic driving data
  • Performance and driving-dynamics visualisation
  • Replaceable graphics and localisation-ready text
  • Reusable interfaces between product signals and presentation
ReusableA standalone component with a clean boundary to the host HMI.
Data-richMultiple vehicle information groups presented within one compact area.
Product-consistentDetailed layouts translated into predictable runtime behaviour.

Outcome

The widget gives the product team a reusable way to add vehicle information without redesigning the complete multimedia interface. It combines polished presentation with an integration model that remains practical for changing signals, assets and languages.
